My first solo show opening!

So I've got my first solo show opening in about two weeks. It's called "Mechanical Victorian Doppelgangers," and it's going to be featuring all these new digital robot illustrations I've been working on. It'll be at the Flying Monkey Arts Center, in the second floor lobby. The address is below.

I'm currently in my last semester at the University of Alabama in Huntsville studying printmaking officially and sculpture unofficially with a minor in philosophy. LOL. I'm really big into woodcuts, both large-scale and "regular sized." During this final semester, I've been exploring letterpress and wood engraving. Outside of school, I'm greatly interested in prop building and costuming. I'm a former member of the 501st Legion, having sported two "firsts" for the Legion: I was the first to complete a Galactic Marine costume, and the first to have a "Holiday Special" Boba Fett accepted in the Legion ranks. I've since retired from active duty, though I'd like to return at a later time when I have a complete costume. LOL. I also used to play ice hockey as a goaltender. And I was a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo. So I've been all over. :P

I'm in love with your bots! When one thinks of robots they often times automatically think rigid sharp angles and NOT smooth round edges and shapes. I've been working on robots myself and keep struggling with how to keep it looking robot-like but round things out. Now that you've done these pieces I'm curious as to whether you'll think I'm stealing your ideas if I put up my pieces. Your robot designs succeed immensely, and mine pale in comparison to yours. I may scrap em. Anyhow, LOVE these guys! I love the colors and the texture and the shapes of the bodies, you can see such character in each of them. SO cool!

Sorry just got your reply. I've been on I just didnt see it, thank you so much. Im happy to say that I've started my own projects most of which have been trash. Im still figuring things out. One project that seems to be promising is a replica mask from an upcoming movie called Franklyn. You can see the perview here. [link]

I dont know much about the movie I just like the mask. Hope you like the idea.
