The image is 6'9" tall on canvas that's about 7'4" tall. Relief print with screened color and painted color (blue). This is part of my ongoing undergraduate print series that deals with the issues that children's stories/TV programs don't address. The overall notion here is that most children's programming consists of promoting good habits, good morals, good good good. However, in order for something to be understood as "good," there has to be something bad for it to contrast with. this particular print somewhat deviates from that because I simply wanted to exaggerate the "bear" part of the Care Bears.

How did you relief print such a large area? I'm assuming multiple blocks and printing by hand?

we have a Takage press her at UAH with a press bed that's 6'10" long and 47" wide. The block is 6'9" tall and about 3' wide so it just barely fit. I needed a team to help maneuver it onto the press bed and it took about 6 passes under the drum for it to print.

lovely print, iv always wanted to work this large, did a few banners but nothing more than mono black and white. good to see its possible though, might try this method sometime soon
